“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”
― Eleanor Roosevelt
As I grew up, I always told myself that one day I would write a book and I would be successful and beloved by countless fans. While I sometimes find it hard not to roll my eyes at my former naivete, it gave me the push I needed to keep writing, even though I never showed it to anyone.
I feel I have reached the point where I want to share my thoughts and ideas on a more global scale, even if no one other than me ever reads this blog. Just by having my words out in the ether, I feel it is a great step, considering I have developed into being too nervous to show anyone my writing. Even though this blog won’t be fictional, gaining confidence is a key step.
As this is only meant to be an intro post by me, I’ll try to keep it short. In only 84 days, I will be fulfilling one of my lifelong dreams by going to Africa to volunteer and sight see for two weeks. I am so excited for this trip, yet I feel that I’ve begun to drive everyone I know slightly crazy by talking about it so much. Instead, I thought I would start blogging – a little distraction for myself and one which I will hope help curb my enthusiasm for the trip. It is completely exhausting to be excited for something so far in advance.
I want to use this blog to share pictures, tell stories of adventures past and present, and house thoughts that occur to me. For anyone who decides to share in this journey with me, hello to you!
