What to do as a Harry Potter fan who lives in Ontario, Canada, far away from either the Universal Parks or the Studio Tour? Attend Ontario-based festivals and performances! Once again, I got the opportunity to explore another way to celebrate my love of Harry Potter – this time by attending two Ontario-based festivals and a two-man skit performance. I have to confess the festivals didn’t live up to my expectations, but there were still aspects that were enjoyable. On the plus side? The two-man performance honestly blew me away. With that mildly optimistic and positive introduction, let’s get to it!
Having been lucky enough to experience both, which did I prefer and how – if money is no obstacle for you – do you decide which to prioritize?
Since I don’t travel full-time, I figured that instead of doing a monthly recap, I would recap each of my trips following the full posts. These recaps will contain highs, lows, logistics, funny anecdotes, pictures, etc. that I likely didn’t include in the full posts.
Without further ado, my trip to the UK!
When planning our day spent sight-seeing, we each were given the chance to chime in with something we wanted to see. My mom chose The Tower of London, my friend Alex chose the London Eye, and my sister Jen and friend Sylvan didn’t have any preference. For me, I knew there was one place I had to go, even if no one else wanted to – The Warner Brothers Studio Tour.
I almost feel as though this post needs a disclaimer. Yes, I absolutely loved the Hogsmeade portion of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando, but I didn’t fall in love with it to the same degree that I did with Diagon Alley the day before. Still, the pull of seeing Hogwarts castle was an undeniable highlight.
