In October it was time for my mom, aunt, cousin, and I to have another girls’ weekend! This time we were headed stateside to Frankenmuth, MI!
We stayed at the Bavarian Inn Lodge, and it was absolutely adorable. Its location was fairly central, and it was the perfect place to regroup after full days of exploration.
We started things off right with a game of mini golf!
From there, it was time to venture out on the town! Although I didn’t take any pictures of it (I was a bit too busy indulging), we went to a wine and chocolate tasting and loved it! If you’ve never done a wine tasting, I highly suggest you do – particularly at one that pairs complementary wines and chocolates.
Frankenmuth, aka. Little Bavaria, is beyond picturesque. We shopped quite a bit, but even just walking down the main streets and admiring the buildings, statues and scenery would have been enough. Of course, we had some fun along the way, too.
Frankenmuth is actually pretty famous for one store in particular – Bronner’s. If you haven’t heard of Bronner’s, but you’re a big fan of all things Christmas, I suggest you get yourself there immediately; it’s the world’s biggest Christmas store. It’s so spectacular that I have a complete separate post about it!
Along with the wine tasting, we had another special event planned, and it was something I’d never done, or even thought I would do. We made pretzels! I might not have been the best at it, but it still tasted great nonetheless.
Plus, don’t we look great? I mean, we could clearly pass for models and be applauded!
If pretzels aren’t your thing, you can check out the sweet shops to purchase or see demonstrations of taffy, chocolate, and fudge.
No matter what draws you to Frankenmuth, there’s something for everyone!
Have you been to Frankenmuth? Is your favorite holiday Christmas?
