Looking back, it’s impossible for me to pinpoint when my love of New Orleans first blossomed, or what exactly drew me to it. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the cultural, architectural, and musical aspects of the Crescent City. I just felt I had to experience that city for my 30th birthday, and luckily, my travel partner in crime, Brit, was more than game to go, too. Brit’s request was adding in a side trip to NASA, one my space-loving self was only too eager to add to the list.

Two years ago, I had lucked out big time – my trip to South Africa had fulfilled a lifelong dream for me, and had even blown my overly high expectations out of the water.
